Harbor Springs Library

Located in charming downtown Harbor Springs, the Harbor Springs Library has been serving the surrounding community for more than 115 years.  Having been beautifully renovated in the Spring of 2011, the library is both a historic gem as well as an evolving community resource.

The Harbor Springs Library now offers free WiFi and public access computers in addition to our growing collection of books, audiobooks, and magazines.  We invite you to explore our website, sign up for our newsletter, and of course pay a visit to your truly unique, local library.

Children's Activities

“Library Day” is a historic Harbor Springs tradition dating back to 1900.  This event served to bring out community together to celebrate its local library in downtown HarborSprings.  In honor of our newly renovated library, we are reviving the tradition of “Library Day”. 

Everyone in the community is invited and encouraged to attend this open house event.

New Programs at the HSL

iPad User Group: The iPad User Group at the HSL has been a huge success!  Thank you to hosts Martha Tuthill and Laura Kors and to all who have attended.  Stay tuned for updates! 

Community Stitch is an open knitting/crochet group that brings people together to work on projects that help others in our community.  All levels and ages are welcome.  The first project will be slippers for Project Connect and Nehemiah House.  The group will meet at the Harbor Springs Library on Tuesday January 31st at 12:30pm.  Patterns are available--bring size 10 needles or H crochet hook and two balls of yarn to get started, or just come and share ideas. 

Spring Street Story Time: Children and Families are invited to join us at the library for a new Story Time Program.  “Spring Street Story Time” is held every other Saturday from 10am-11am--See our event calendar for exact dates.  Bring the whole family for a fun morning in the library.

Spanish Conversation Group:

Anyone interested in practicing their Spanish speaking skills are welcome to join us in the Harbor Springs Library every Thursday at  5:00pm  Speakers of all levels are encouraged to attend.  Call 526-2531 or fill out a contact form for more information.
